Hello Judges.

For those of you helping out at The Duelist Genesis Sneak Preview this weekend, here's a synopsis of rules you might need. These rulings will also be posted in the Files section of the forum, and will go up on the official FAQ shortly.

For those not helping out, you should attend! You can find details at www.yugiohpreview.com

Attendees will receive a copy of “Avenging Knight Parshath”, a promo card making its world debut at this Sneak Preview (while supplies last). Participants in the Sneak Preview are allowed to use this promo in their Sealed Decks.

The Duelist Genesis is the first booster to include the exciting new Synchro and Tuner Monsters. Here is a summary of the rules for using these new cards:

Synchro Monsters have a White card border. Synchro Monsters go in your Extra Deck – they do not go in your Main Deck (see below).

In order to Synchro Summon a Synchro Monster, you need 1 Tuner monster (look for “Tuner” next to its Type). The Tuner Monster and other face-up monsters you use for the Synchro Summon are called Synchro Material Monsters. The sum of their Levels is the Level of Synchro Monster you can Summon.

To Synchro Summon a Synchro Monster:

1. Have a Tuner monster and 1 or more non-Tuner monsters face-up on the field.
2. Make sure the Levels of the monsters you want to use add up exactly to the Level of the Synchro Monster you want to Summon. (You don’t have to use all your monsters.)
3. Send the Tuner and the other monsters you are using to your Graveyard.
4. Special Summon the Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck

You can use Tokens as Synchro Material Monsters.

You can Synchro Summon while “Dimensional Fissure,” etc., is active.


After a Synchro Monster has been Synchro Summoned, if it is sent from the field to the Graveyard it can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard with “Monster Reborn,” etc.

Additionally, some game terms have changed:

The Fusion Deck is now called the Extra Deck.
Not just for Fusion Monsters anymore, you can also include the new white-framed Synchro Monster Cards in this Deck. The Extra Deck still uses all the same rules as the Fusion Deck. You can include up to 3 copies of a card in your Extra Deck.

“Multi-Trigger” Effect Monster effects are now called “Quick Effects.”
This is a change in terminology to help players better identify and understand this category of monster effects. There are no rules changes to how any cards are played.

Turbo Booster

TDGS-EN001 (Machine / Effect)

[If you have Normal Summoned a monster this turn, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. You can Tribute this card to destroy 1 monster your opponent controls that battled one of your monsters this turn.]

"Turbo Booster" can only be Special Summoned by its effect during your own Main Phases.

"Turbo Booster's" second effect is an Ignition Effect that you can activate during your Main Phase 2. Tributing "Turbo Booster" is a cost. This effect targets your opponent's monster.

If you Special Summon "Turbo Booster" during your Main Phase 2 you can still activate its second effect.


Quillbolt Hedgehog

TDGS-EN003 (Machine / Effect)

[If you control a face-up Tuner monster, you can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. If this card was Summoned this way, remove it from play when it is removed from the field.]

"Quillbolt Hedgehog's" Special Summon effect is an Ignition Effect.

If an effect is chained that removes your only Tuner monster from your side of the field, "Quillbolt Hedgehog" is not Special Summoned.

If "Quillbolt Hedgehog" is flipped face-down after it is Special Summoned by its effect, it is not removed from play when it is removed from the field, even if it is flipped face-up.

If "Quillbolt Hedgehog" is Special Summoned by its effect and is later removed from the field while "Skill Drain" is active, "Quillbolt Hedgehog" is still removed from play.

If you Special Summon "Quillbolt Hedgehog" with its effect and afterwards remove it from play with "Interdimensional Matter Transporter," "Quillbolt Hedgehog" is not returned to the field in the End Phase.


Ghost Gardna

TDGS-EN004 (Warrior / Effect)

[When a face-up monster you control is selected as an attack target, you can change the target to this card. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, 1 face-up monster your opponent controls loses 1000 ATK, until the End Phase.]

"Ghost Gardna's" second effect targets 1 of your opponent's monsters.

If a "Ghost Gardna" in your hand or Deck is destroyed and sent to your Graveyard, its effect activates.


Shield Warrior

TDGS-EN005 (Warrior / Effect)

[During damage calculation, you can remove from play this card from your Graveyard to prevent monsters you control from being destroyed by this battle.]

"Shield Warrior's" effect is a Quick Effect. Removing "Shield Warrior" from play is a cost. This effect does not target.

You cannot activate "Shield Warrior's" effect if your monster would not be destroyed by the battle.


Small Piece Golem

TDGS-EN006 (Rock / Effect)

[When this card is Summoned, if you control a "Big Piece Golem", you can Special Summon 1 "Medium Piece Golem" from your Deck. That monster's effect is negated while it is face-up on the field.]

If "Small Piece Golem" is Special Summoned during the Damage Step, you can activate its effect.

If an effect is chained that removes your only "Big Piece Golem" from the field, "Medium Piece Golem" is still Special Summoned.


Medium Piece Golem

TDGS-EN007 (Rock / Effect)

[When this card is Summoned, if you control a "Big Piece Golem", you can Special Summon 1 "Small Piece Golem" from your Deck. That monster's effect is negated while it is face-up on the field.]

If "Medium Piece Golem" is Special Summoned during the Damage Step, you can activate its effect.


Sinister Sprocket

TDGS-EN009 (Fiend / Tuner)

[If this card is sent to the Graveyard for the Synchro Summon of a DARK Synchro Monster, you can destroy 1 face-up Spell or Trap Card.]

When "Sinister Sprocket" is used as a Synchro Material Monster, if the Synchro Monster becomes a DARK monster when it is Synchro Summoned (due to "DNA Transplant", etc.), you can activate "Sinister Sprocket's" effect.


Twin-Shield Defender

TDGS-EN011 (Warrior / Effect)

[When this card you control is destroyed by battle and sent to your Graveyard, you can halve the current ATK of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls, until the End Phase.]

"Twin-Shield Defender's" effect targets 1 face-up monster your opponent controls.

"Twin-Shield Defender" halves the current ATK of the targeted monster, including any gains and/or losses from effects.

Example 1: "Sangan" equipped with "Axe of Despair" has 2000 ATK. If its ATK is halved by "Twin-Shield Defender" it will have 1000 ATK.

Example 2: "Sangan's" original ATK is halved by "Shrink" to 500 ATK. If its ATK is halved by "Twin-Shield Defender", it will have 250 ATK.

If "Rush Recklessly" is activated after "Twin-Shield Defender's" effect resolves, the ATK gained from "Rush Recklessly" is not halved.

If "Shrink" or "Megamorph" is activated after "Twin-Shield Defender's" effect resolves, "Twin-Shield Defender's" effect disappears.

Example 1: If "Sangan's" ATK is halved by "Twin-Shield Defender" to 500 ATK and afterwards its original ATK is halved by "Shrink", it will have 500 ATK.

Example 2: If "Sangan's" ATK is halved by "Twin-Shield Defender" to 500 ATK and afterwards it is equipped with "Megamorph", it will have 500 ATK or 2000 ATK (depending on Life Points).


Jutte Fighter

TDGS-EN012 (Warrior / Tuner)

[Once per turn, you can change 1 face-up Attack Position monster your opponent controls to face-up Defense Position.]

"Jutte Fighter's" effect targets 1 face-up Attack Position monster your opponent controls.


Handcuffs Dragon

TDGS-EN013 (Dragon / Effect)

[When this card is destroyed by battle with an attacking monster your opponent controls and is sent to the Graveyard, you can equip this card to that monster. The equipped monster loses 1800 ATK. When it is destroyed and this card is sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon this card.]

"Handcuffs Dragon’s" effect does not target when it is activated. However, while equipped to a monster it targets the equipped monster.

If "Handcuffs Dragon" becomes equipped to a monster with its effect, "Tailor of the Fickle" cannot be used to equip it to another monster.


Montage Dragon

TDGS-EN014 (Dragon / Effect)

[This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by sending 3 other monsters from your hand to the Graveyard. This card's ATK is equal to the combined Levels of the sent monsters x 300.]

You cannot Special Summon "Montage Dragon" while "Macro Cosmos" or "Dimensional Fissure", etc. is face-up on the field because you cannot send Monster Cards from your hand to the Graveyard.

If you send a WATER monster from your hand to the Graveyard while "A Legendary Ocean" is active, the original Level of the monster is used and not the reduced Level.

If "Montage Dragon" is flipped face-down by "Book of Moon", etc., when it is flipped face-up its ATK is 0.

If "Skill Drain" is active while "Montage Dragon" is face-up on the field, its ATK becomes 0. If "Skill Drain" is later negated or removed from the field, its ATK remains 0.


Mind Master

TDGS-EN016 (Psychic / Tuner)

[You can pay 800 Life Points and Tribute 1 Psychic-Type monster, except "Mind Master", to Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Psychic-Type monster from your Deck in face-up Attack Position.]

Paying 800 Life Points and Tributing 1 other Psychic-Type monster is a cost.

You can activate this effect multiple times during the same turn if you can continue to pay the cost.

"Mind Master's" effect cannot be activated if you do not have any Level 4 or lower Psychic-Type Monsters in your Deck that you can Special Summon.


Doctor Cranium

TDGS-EN017 (Psychic / Effect)

[When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can pay 800 Life Points to add 1 Psychic-Type monster from your Deck to your hand.]

Paying 800 Life Points is a cost.


Krebons

TDGS-EN018 (Psychic / Effect)

[When this card is selected as an attack target, you can pay 800 Life Points to negate the attack.]

Paying 800 Life Points is a cost. "Krebons’" effect does not target.


Mind Protector

TDGS-EN019 (Psychic / Effect)

[This card's controller must pay 500 Life Points during each of their Standby Phases. If they cannot, destroy this card. Monsters with 2000 or less ATK cannot declare an attack, except for Psychic-Type monsters.]

Paying 500 Life Points is a maintenance cost.


Psychic Commander

TDGS-EN020 (Psychic / Tuner)

[When a Psychic-Type monster you control battles, during the Damage Step you can pay Life Points in multiples of 100 (max. 500) to have the monster it's battling lose that much ATK and DEF, until the End Phase.]

"Psychic Commander's" effect targets the opponent's monster that is battling your Psychic-Type monster.

"Psychic Commander's" effect can only be activated once during the Damage Step.


Psychic Snail

TDGS-EN021 (Psychic / Effect)

[You can pay 800 Life Points and select 1 other face-up Psychic-Type monster you control. That monster can attack twice during each Battle Phase. This card cannot attack the turn you activate this effect.]

"Psychic Snail's" effect targets 1 of your other Psychic-Type monsters. Paying 800 Life Points is a cost.

"Psychic Snail's" effect can be activated multiple times during the same turn, as long as you can pay the cost.



Telekinetic Shocker

TDGS-EN022 (Psychic / Effect)

[If a Psychic-Type monster would be destroyed, you can pay 500 Life Points and destroy this card instead.]

Paying 500 Life Points is a cost.

You pay 500 Life Points and destroy "Telekinetic Shocker" when a face-up Psychic-Type monster on the field would be destroyed, including a Psychic-Type monster your opponent controls. This effect does not use the Chain.

If 2 or more face-up Psychic-Type monsters would be destroyed by the same effect, you can destroy "Telekinetic Shocker" instead and the Psychic-Type monsters are not destroyed. If "Telekinetic Shocker" will also be destroyed by the same effect, you cannot use its effect.


Destructotron

TDGS-EN023 (Psychic / Effect)

[During the End Phase, if this card is the only Psychic-Type monster you control, destroy it. You can pay 1000 Life Points to destroy 1 face-down Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls.]

"Destructotron's" first effect is a Trigger Effect and starts a Chain.

Paying 1000 Life Points is a cost. This effect targets 1 of your opponent's face-down Spell or Trap Cards.


Gladiator Beast Equeste

TDGS-EN024 (Winged Beast / Effect)

[When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a "Gladiator Beast" monster, add 1 "Gladiator Beast" card from your Graveyard to your hand. At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card attacked or was attacked, you can return it to the Deck to Special Summon 1 "Gladiator Beast" monster from your Deck, except "Gladiator Beast Equeste".]

"Gladiator Beast Equeste's" effect targets 1 "Gladiator Beast" card in your Graveyard.

Jenis, Lightsworn Mender

TDGS-EN025 (Spellcaster / Effect)

[During the End Phase, if a card(s) was sent from your Deck to the Graveyard by the effect of a "Lightsworn" card this turn, inflict 500 damage to your opponent and gain 500 Life Points.]

"Jenis, Lightsworn Mender's" effect only activates once during the End Phase, even if cards were sent from your Deck to the Graveyard by the effects of multiple "Lightsworn" monsters.

If "Jenis, Lightsworn Mender" is Summoned after card(s) are sent from your Deck to the Graveyard by the effect of a "Lightsworn" Monster, "Jenis, Lightsworn Mender's" effect still activates in the End Phase.

The damage and Life Point gain with "Jenis, Lightsworn Mender" happen at the same time, so it is possible to start a new Chain with "Numinous Healer" or "Attack and Receive", etc.


Mecha Bunny

TDGS-EN027 (Machine / Effect)

[When this card is flipped face-up, select 1 card on the field and inflict 500 damage to its controller. When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 "Mecha Bunny" from your Deck in face-down Defense Position.]

"Mecha Bunny's" effect targets 1 card on the field. If an effect is chained that removes the selected card from the field, "Mecha Bunny's" effect disappears.


Twin-Barrel Dragon

TDGS-EN029 (Machine / Effect)

[When this card is Summoned, select 1 card your opponent controls. Toss a coin twice, and if the result is 2 heads destroy the selected card.]

"Twin-Barrel Dragon’s" effect targets 1 card your opponent controls.


Izanagi

TDGS-EN030 (Fairy / Effect)

[You can Special Summon this card from your hand by removing from play 1 Spirit monster from your hand. Spirit monsters you control do not have to have their effects that return them to the hand activated.]

"Izanagi's" effect is not applied if it is face-down during the End Phase.


Kunoichi

TDGS-EN031 (Warrior / Effect)

[When control of this face-up card changes, its new controller discards 1 random card.]

If an effect is chained that removes "Kunoichi" from the field, its new controller still discards 1 card.

If you give control of your face-up "Kunoichi" to your opponent while "Remove Brainwashing" is active, it is immediately returned to your control and when its effect resolves you will discard 1 card.


Beast of the Pharaoh

TDGS-EN032 (Zombie / Effect)

[If this card is sent to the Graveyard for a Synchro Summon, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Zombie-Type monster from your Graveyard.]

"Beast of the Pharaoh's" effect targets 1 Level 4 or lower Zombie-Type monster in your Graveyard.


Dark Hunter

TDGS-EN033 (Fiend / Effect)

[This card's effect changes depending on the number of DARK monsters in your Graveyard. ●1 or fewer: This card loses 400 ATK. ●2 to 4: This card gains 400 ATK. ●5 or more: You can send this card to the Graveyard to destroy all face-down monsters your opponent controls.]

If you activate "Dark Hunter's" "5 or more" effect and an effect is chained that reduces the number of DARK monsters in your Graveyard to 4 or less, "Dark Hunter's" effect still resolves.

While "Skill Drain" is active, all of "Dark Hunter's" effects are negated because the primary effect, "This card's effect changes depending on the number of DARK monsters in your Graveyard", is negated.


Kinka-Byo

TDGS-EN034 (Beast / Spirit)

[This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card returns to its owner's hand during the End Phase of the turn it is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up. When this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up, you can Special Summon 1 Level 1 monster from your Graveyard. When this card is removed from the field, remove from play that monster.]

"Kinka-Byo's" effect targets 1 Level 1 monster in your Graveyard and continues to target it while it is on the field.

Removing the Special Summoned monster from play when "Kinka-Byo" is removed from the field does not start a Chain.

When "Kinka-Byo" is flipped face-down its effect disappears. If it is flipped face-up and Special Summons another Level 1 monster, when it is removed from the field only the newly Special Summoned Level 1 monster is removed from play. The previously Special Summoned Level 1 monster remains on the field.

If you Special Summon "Arcana Force 0 - The Fool" with "Kinka-Byo's" effect and the coin toss for "Arcana Force 0 - The Fool" is heads, "Kinka-Byo's" effect is negated and it is destroyed. "Arcana Force 0 - The Fool" remains on the field.



Yamato-no-Kami

TDGS-EN035 (Warrior / Spirit)

[This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing from play 1 Spirit monster from your Graveyard. This card returns to its owner's hand during the End Phase of the turn it is Special Summoned. If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle, you can destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls.]

When "Yamato-no-Kami" destroys an opponent's monster by battle, its effect activates at the end of the Damage Step, when monsters that are destroyed in battle are sent to the Graveyard.

This effect targets 1 Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls.


Silent Strider

TDGS-EN036 (Insect/ Effect)

[You can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard to reduce the Level of 1 monster on the field by 1, until the End Phase.]

"Silent Strider's" effect is an Ignition Effect. Sending "Silent Strider" to the Graveyard is a cost.

"Silent Strider's" effect targets 1 face-up monster. You cannot select a Level 1 monster.



Noisy Gnat

TDGS-EN037 (Insect / Effect)

[You can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard to increase the Level of 1 monster on the field by 1, until the End Phase.]

"Noisy Gnat's" effect is an Ignition Effect. Sending "Noisy Gnat" to the Graveyard is a cost.

"Noisy Gnat's" effect targets 1 face-up monster.


Multiple Piece Golem

TDGS-EN038 (Rock / Fusion / Effect)

["Big Piece Golem" + "Medium Piece Golem"

At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card attacked or was attacked, you can return it to the Extra Deck. Then, if all of the Fusion Material Monsters that were used for the Fusion Summon of this card are in your Graveyard, you can Special Summon them.]

"Multiple Piece Golem's" effect is a Trigger Effect. It does not target.

"Multiple Piece Golem" is returned to the Extra Deck when its effect resolves. Returning it is not a cost.


Nitro Warrior

TDGS-EN039 (Warrior / Synchro / Effect)

["Nitro Synchron" + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

Once during each of your turns, if you activated a Spell Card, this card gains 1000 ATK during its next attack, for damage calculation only. Once per turn, if this attacking card destroys an opponent's monster by battle, you can change 1 face-up Defense Position monster your opponent controls to Attack Position, and attack it with this card.]

If the Spell Card is activated before "Nitro Warrior" is Summoned, "Nitro Warrior" does not gain 1000 ATK during its next attack.

"Nitro Warrior's" second effect targets 1 of your opponent's face-up Defense Position monsters.

"Nitro Warrior's" second effect activates at the end of the Damage Step, when monsters destroyed by battle are sent to the Graveyard. If you activate this effect you will return to the Battle Step and attack the selected monster with "Nitro Warrior".

If "Nitro Warrior's" second effect is used to attack again, cards like "Sakuretsu Armor" can be activated when the additional attack is declared.

If "Toll" is active, "Nitro Warrior's" controller pays 500 Life Points when they declare the additional attack.


Stardust Dragon

TDGS-EN040 (Dragon / Synchro / Effect)

[1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

You can Tribute this card to negate the activation of a Spell Card, Trap Card, or Effect Monster's effect that destroys a card(s) on the field, and destroy that card. If you negate an effect this way, you can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard during the End Phase.]

Tributing "Stardust Dragon" is a cost to activate its effect.

"Stardust Dragon's" first effect can be activated during the Damage Step.

"Stardust Dragon's" effects do not target.

"Stardust Dragon's" effect can be chained to the effect of a Continuous Spell or Trap Card, like "Blaze Cannon" or "Skull Lair".

"Stardust Dragon's" first effect cannot be chained to an effect that may or may not destroy card(s) on the field, like "Barrel Dragon" or "Snipe Hunter".

If "Crush Card Virus" is activated and there is a face-up monster on the field that will be destroyed, "Stardust Dragon's" effect can be chained.

If "Royal Oppression's" effect is activated to negate the Special Summon of a monster, like "Cyber Dragon" or "Gladiator Beast Gyzarus", "Stardust Dragon's" effect cannot be chained because the monster being Special Summoned is not considered to be "on the field" until its Summon is successful.

"Stardust Dragon's" second effect can only be chained to an effect that will destroy card(s) on the field. For example, if "Night Assailant" second effect is activated when it is discarded, "Stardust Dragon's" effect cannot be chained because this effect does not destroy card(s) on the field.

If "Stardust Dragon" is removed from play when its first effect is activated (by “Banisher of the Light,” etc.), or it is removed from the Graveyard after its first effect is activated, it cannot be Special Summoned with its effect during the End Phase.

If you Special Summon "Stardust Dragon" during the End Phase and your opponent activates "Torrential Tribute," you can chain "Stardust Dragon's" first effect to negate "Torrential Tribute". If you do, you can Special Summon "Stardust Dragon" again during the same End Phase.



Red Dragon Archfiend

TDGS-EN041 (Dragon / Synchro / Effect)

[1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

If this card attacks a Defense Position monster your opponent controls, destroy all Defense Position monsters your opponent controls after damage calculation. During your End Phase, destroy all other monsters you control that did not declare an attack this turn.]

"Red Dragon Archfiend's" effect activates after damage calculation in the Damage Step, before the effects of flipped Flip Effect monsters or the effects of cards like "D.D. Warrior" activate.

If the Defense Position monster attacked by "Red Dragon Archfiend" is changed to Attack Position before damage calculation with "Final Attack Orders", etc., "Red Dragon Archfiend's" effect does not activate.

If "Red Dragon Archfiend" attacks a Defense Position "Giant Rat," etc., and destroys it with its effect, "Giant Rat's" effect does not activate because it is destroyed by "Red Dragon Archfiend's" effect before it would be sent to the Graveyard by battle.

If the attack of one of your monsters is negated, with "Magic Cylinder", etc., the monster is destroyed by "Red Dragon Archfiend's" effect in your End Phase.

“Red Dragon Archfiend’s” second effect will activate during each of your End Phases, even if every monster you control has attacked.


Goyo Guardian

TDGS-EN042 (Warrior / Synchro / Effect)

[1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

You can chain "Thought Ruler Archfiend's" effect when a Psychic-Type monster in the Graveyard is targeted.

“Thought Ruler Archfiend’s” effect can be activated during the Damage Step.


Fighting Spirit

TDGS-EN045 (Equip Spell Card)

[The equipped monster gains 300 ATK for each monster your opponent controls. If it would be destroyed by battle, you can destroy this card instead.]

Destroying "Fighting Spirit" when the equipped monster would be destroyed does not use the Chain.

"Fighting Spirit" is destroyed when the equipped monster would be sent to the Graveyard by battle. If this effect is used, "Fighting Spirit" will not be on the field at the end of the Damage Step and could not be targeted by effects that activate at the end of the Damage Step.

If a "Hyper Hammerhead" destroyed by battle is equipped with "Fighting Spirit" and it is destroyed instead, "Hyper Hammerhead" remains on the field and its effect activates.


Domino Effect

TDGS-EN046 (Continuous Spell Card)

[When a monster your opponent controls is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can send 1 monster you control to the Graveyard to destroy 1 monster your opponent controls.]

"Domino Effect's" effect starts a Chain. Sending 1 monster you control to the Graveyard is a cost.

"Domino Effect" targets 1 monster your opponent controls.


Battle Tuned

[Remove from play 1 Tuner monster from your Graveyard. Target face-up monster you control gains ATK equal to the removed monster's ATK.]

De-Sychro

[Select 1 face-up Synchro Monster. Return it to its owner's Extra Deck. Then, if all of the monsters that were used for the Synchro Summon of that monster are in your Graveyard, you can Special Summon them.]

"De-Synchro" targets 1 face-up Synchro Monster.

If a Synchro Material Monster used in the Synchro Summon is removed from the Graveyard, it cannot be Special Summoned with "De-Synchro", even if it is returned to the Graveyard.

Lightwave Tuning

TDGS-EN050 (Normal Spell Card)

[Select 1 Level 4 LIGHT monster you control. It is treated as a Tuner monster while it is face-up on the field.]

If a LIGHT Union monster is also treated as a Tuner monster with "Lightwave Tuning", when the Union monster is equipped to another monster it is no longer treated as a Tuner monster. If it is Special Summoned during the same turn, it is still not treated as a Tuner monster.


Psi-Station

TDGS-EN051 (Continuous Spell Card)

[When a Psychic-Type monster is Normal Summoned, you can pay 500 Life Points to have it gain 300 ATK and increase its Level by 1.]

"Psi-Station" targets the Normal Summoned Psychic-Type monster.

After resolving "Psi-Station's" effect, if "Psi-Station" is removed from the field any monster it had affected keeps the 300 ATK increase and increased Level.


Psi-Impulse

TDGS-EN052 (Normal Spell Card)

[Tribute 1 Psychic-Type monster. Return all cards in your opponent's hand to the Deck. Then, they draw 3 cards.]

"Psi-Impulse" cannot be activated if your opponent has less than 3 cards remaining in their Deck or they have no cards in their hand.

If an effect is chained that results in your opponent having 0 cards in their hand, "Psi-Impule's" effect disappears.


Emergency Teleport

TDGS-EN053 (Quick-Play Spell Card)

[Special Summon 1 Level 3 or lower Psychic-Type monster from your hand or Deck. During the End Phase this turn, remove from play that monster.]

Removing the Special Summoned Psychic-Type Monster from play does not start a Chain.


Sword of Kusanagi

TDGS-EN054 (Equip Spell Card)

[Equip only to a Spirit monster. During battle, when it attacks a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower than the ATK of the equipped monster, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent. When the equipped monster you control is returned to the hand and this card is sent to the Graveyard, return this card to your hand.]

"Sword of Kusanagi's" second effect activates in the Graveyard.

If you control your opponent's Spirit Monster and you equip it with "Sword of Kusanagi", when the Spirit Monster is returned to your opponent's hand and "Sword of Kusanagi" is destroyed, its second effect activates.

If you add your opponent's "Sword of Kusanagi" to your hand with "Exchange" and equip it to a Spirit Monster you control, when the Spirit Monster is returned to its owner's hand and "Sword of Kusanagi" is destroyed, "Sword of Kusanagi's" effect does not activate.


Geartown

TDGS-EN57 (Field Spell Card)

[Both players can Tribute Summon "Ancient Gear" monsters with 1 less Tribute than required. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 "Ancient Gear" monster from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard.]

"Geartown's" first effect does not start a Chain.

You can still choose to Tribute the usual number of monsters when Tribute Summoning an "Ancient Gear" monster.

When "Geartown" is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, only its owner can activate its effect.

If your "Geartown" is destroyed in your hand or Deck and sent to your Graveyard, you can activate its effect.

While "Geartown" is active, you can Tribute "Ancient Gear Castle" with 1 Counter to Tribute Summon "Ancient Gear Golem".

If "Geartown" is Special Summoned with "Magical Hats", you can activate its effect when it is destroyed.

If you activate "Geartown" and an effect is chained that destroys it, you cannot activate its effect when it is destroyed.

If your opponent activates a Field Spell Card and your "Geartown" is destroyed, you can activate its effect.

If you control "Geartown" and you activate a new Field Spell Card, you cannot activate "Geartown's" effect when it is destroyed because it misses the timing. However, if you Set a new Field Spell Card, you can activate "Geartown's" effect when it is destroyed.


Power Filter

TDGS-EN058 (Continuous Spell Card)

[Neither player can Special Summon monsters with 1000 or less ATK.]

Even if a monster's ATK would become more than 1000 after it is Special Summoned, you cannot Special Summon it while "Power Filter" is active.

Monsters with 1000 or less ATK cannot be Special Summoned face-down with "The Shallow Grave", etc.

Monsters with "?" ATK can be Special Summoned.


Lightsworn Sabre

TDGS-EN059 (Equip Spell Card)

[Equip only to a "Lightsworn" monster. It gains 700 ATK. When this card is sent from your Deck to your Graveyard, you can equip it to 1 "Lightsworn" monster you control.]

If "Lightsworn Sabre" is sent from your Deck to the Graveyard to pay a cost its effect cannot be activated.


Unstable Evolution

TDGS-EN060 (Equip Spell Card)

[While your Life Points are lower than your opponent's, the equipped monster's original ATK becomes 2400. While your Life Points are higher than your opponent's, its original ATK becomes 1000.]

"Unstable Evolution" changes the equipped monster's original ATK. If the equipped monster is targeted by "Shrink", its original ATK determined by "Unstable Evolution" is halved.

When determining the equipped monster's ATK, apply the effect of "Unstable Evolution" and then apply any other ATK gains and losses.

If the equipped monster gains 700 ATK with "Rush Recklessly" and afterwards "Unstable Evolution" is removed from the field or negated, etc., the monster's original ATK returns to normal and "Rush Recklessly" is reapplied.

If the equipped monster is also equipped with "Megamorph", first determine its new original ATK due to "Unstable Evolution" and then halve or double it with "Megamorph".

If "Unstable Evolution" is equipped to "King of the Skull Servants", "King of the Skull Servant's" original ATK becomes the value determined by "Unstable Evolution". When "Unstable Evolution" is negated or removed from the field, "King of the Skull Servant's" original ATK is determined by its effect.

If "Unstable Evolution" is equipped to "Megarock Dragon", its original ATK becomes the value determined by "Unstable Evolution". When "Unstable Evolution" is negated or removed from the field, "Megarock Dragon's" original ATK is determined by its own effect.

If "Unstable Evolution" is equipped to a "Fusilier Dragon, the Dual-Mode Beast" that was Normal Summoned or Set without Tributes, its original ATK is determined by "Unstable Evolution". When "Unstable Evolution" is negated or removed from the field, "Fusilier Dragon, the Dual-Mode Beast's" ATK becomes halved to 1400.

The monster equipped with "Unstable Evolution" is not destroyed by "Overworked", because "Unstable Evolution" changes the monster original ATK to a new value. The monster will be destroyed if another effect increases its ATK.


Recycling Batteries

TDGS-EN061 (Normal Spell Card)

[Add 2 Thunder-Type monsters with 1500 or less ATK from your Graveyard to your hand.]

"Recycling Batteries" targets 2 Thunder-Type monsters in your Graveyard.


Book of Eclipse

TDGS-EN062 (Quick-Play Spell Card)

[Change all face-up monsters on the field to face-down Defense Position. During the End Phase, flip all face-down Defense Position monsters your opponent controls face-up, and your opponent draws 1 card for each.]

Flipping your opponent's face-down monsters face-up does not start a Chain.

If your opponent has face-down monsters that were not flipped face-down by "Book of Eclipse", they are also flipped face-up.


Equip Shot

TDGS-EN063 (Normal Trap Card)

[Activate only during the Battle Phase. Select 1 Equip Card equipped to a face-up Attack Position monster you control, and select 1 face-up Attack Position monster your opponent controls. Equip that monster with the selected Equip Card. Then, conduct battle between your previously equipped monster and the selected monster (other effects cannot be activated during this battle).]

"Equip Shot" cannot be activated during the Damage Step or End Step.

The Attack Position monster selected by "Equip Shot" must be a legal target for the selected Equip Card. If no legal targets exist, "Equip Shot" cannot be activated.

The selected Equip Card remains under your control when it is equipped to your opponent's monster.

You can select a monster that has already attacked. If you select a monster that has not attacked it may conduct its regular attack after the battle caused by "Equip Shot".

If your opponent attacks with one monster (monster A) and you activate "Equip Shot", selecting another of their monsters (monster B), the original attacking monster (monster A) cannot attack after the battle caused by "Equip Shot", but the monster selected by "Equip Shot" (monster B) may attack after the battle created by "Equip Shot".

When "Equip Shot" resolves, the battle caused by "Equip Shot" proceeds directly to the Damage Step.

If you activate "Equip Shot" during your Battle Phase, your monster is the attacker. If you activate it during your opponent's Battle Phase, your opponent's monster is the attacker.

If an effect is chained that switches the monster that would be the attacker into Defense Position, the selected Equip Card is still transferred but the battle is not conducted, unless the monster can attack while in Defense Position like "Total Defense Shogun".

If one of the monsters affected by "Equip Shot" cannot attack, the Equip Card is still transferred.


Defense Draw

TDGS-EN065 (Normal Trap Card)

[Activate only during damage calculation during your opponent's turn. The Battle Damage you would receive becomes 0. Draw 1 card.]

You cannot activate "Defense Draw" if you will not receive Battle Damage from the attack.

You cannot activate "Defense Draw" if there are no cards left in your Deck.

You cannot activate "Defense Draw" while your opponent controls a face-up "Protector of the Sanctuary".


Remote Revenge

TDGS-EN066 (Normal Trap Card)

[Activate only when a monster you control is targeted by a Spell, Trap or Effect Monster's effect that destroys 1 monster on the field. Switch the target to an appropriate monster your opponent controls.]

"Remote Revenge" cannot be chained to an effect that targets 2 or more monsters. If the effect targets only 1 monster while also targeting 1 or more non-Monster Cards, like "Icarus Attack", "Remote Revenge" can be chained.


Spacegate

TDGS-EN067 (Continuous Trap Card)

[When a monster your opponent controls attacks or is attacked, place 1 Gate Counter on this card at the end of the Damage Step. During your Main Phase, you can send this card to the Graveyard to Special Summon 1 monster from your hand whose Level is equal to or lower than the number of Gate Counters on this card.]

Placing a "Gate Counter" onto "Spacegate" does not start a Chain.

Sending "Spacegate" to the Graveyard is a cost to activate its second effect.

If "Royal Decree" is chained to the second effect of "Spacegate", "Spacegate's" effect is negated because the effect activated on the field.


Synchro Deflector

TDGS-EN068 (Normal Trap Card)

[Activate only when a face-up Synchro Monster you control is selected as an attack target. Negate the attack and destroy 1 monster your opponent controls.]

"Synchro Deflector" targets your opponent's monster that will be destroyed.


Broken Blocker

TDGS-EN069 (Normal Trap Card)

[Activate only when a Defense Position monster you control, whose DEF is higher than its ATK, is destroyed by battle. Special Summon up to 2 monsters with the same name as that monster from your Deck in face-up Defense Position.]

Refer to the destroyed monster's ATK and DEF while it was on the field, including any gain/losses to its ATK and DEF.


Psychic Overload

TDGS-EN070 (Normal Trap Card)

[Select 3 Psychic-Type monsters in your Graveyard. Return them to the Deck, then draw 2 cards.]

"Psychic Overload" targets 3 Psychic-Type monsters in your Graveyard.


Psychic Rejuvenation

TDGS-EN071 (Normal Trap Card)

[Gain 1000 Life Points for each face-up Psychic-Type monster you control.]

Count the number of face-up Psychic-Type monsters when "Psychic Rejuvenation" resolves.


Telepathic Power

TDGS-EN072 (Normal Trap Card)

[Activate only when a face-up Psychic-Type monster you control is attacked and destroyed by battle with an opponent's monster. Destroy the monster that attacked, and gain Life Points equal to its ATK.]

"Telepathic Power" targets your opponent's monster that attacked and destroyed your Psychic-Type monster by battle.

"Telepathic Power" is activated at the end of the Damage Step, when monsters destroyed by battle are sent to the Graveyard.

You gain Life Points equal to the ATK of the destroyed monster while it was on the field.


Mind Over Matter

TDGS-EN073 (Counter Trap Card)

[Tribute 1 Psychic-Type monster. Negate the activation of a Spell or Trap Card, or the Normal or Special Summon of a monster, and destroy that card.]

You can Tribute a face-down Psychic-Type monster you control.


Lightsworn Barrier

TDGS-EN075 (Continuous Trap Card)

[When a face-up "Lightsworn" monster you control is selected as an attack target, you can send the top 2 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard to negate the attack.]

"Lightsworn Barrier" targets your opponent's attacking monster.

Sending two cards from the top of your Deck to the Graveyard is a cost.


Intercept

TDGS-EN076 (Counter Trap Card)

[Activate only when a monster is Tribute Summoned with 1 Tribute. Take control of that monster.]

"Intercept" targets the Tribute Summoned monster.

If the Tribute Summoned monster has an effect that activates when it is Tribute Summoned, the player that Tribute Summoned the monster activates its effect. "Intercept" is chained to the monster's effect.


Judgment of Thunder

TDGS-EN077 (Normal Trap Card)

[Activate only when you Summon a Thunder-Type monster(s). Destroy 1 card your opponent controls.]

"Judgment of Thunder" cannot be activated in the Damage Step.

"Judgment of Thunder" targets 1 card your opponent controls.


Fish Depth Charge

TDGS-EN078 (Normal Trap Card)

[Tribute 1 Fish-Type monster. Destroy 1 card on the field, and draw 1 card.]

"Fish Depth Charge" targets 1 card your opponent controls.

If "Fish Depth Charge" does not destroy the selected card when it resolves, you do not draw.


Needlebug Nest

TDGS-EN079 (Normal Trap Card)

[Send the top 5 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard.]

"Needlebug Nest" cannot be activated if you have less than 5 cards in your Deck.

If you activate "Needlebug Nest" and an effect is chained that reduces the number of cards in your Deck to 4 or less, when "Needlebug Nest" resolves you will send every card remaining in your Deck to the Graveyard.
